Buying a car is a big moment, and we want you to feel good about it — not just on day one, but for the long run. That’s why every eligible used car we sell comes with a Statutory Warranty, as required by law in Queensland.
Plus, if you want even more protection, we offer optional Extended Warranty Plans to give you peace of mind long after you hit the road.
Here’s everything you need to know — no confusing jargon, just straight answers.
In Queensland, licensed motor dealers must give you a Statutory Warranty when you buy certain used cars. It’s a legal protection to cover you if something major goes wrong shortly after the sale.
There are two types, based on the age and kilometres of the car:
🟩 Class A Vehicles
Under 10 years old, and
Less than 160,000 km
→ You get 3 months or 5,000 km of warranty (whichever comes first)
🟨 Class B Vehicles
Over 10 years old, or
More than 160,000 km
→ You still get 1 month or 1,000 km of warranty (whichever comes first)
Even older/high-km cars get some protection — that’s the law!
🧾 What’s Covered? ✅
If the heart or gears of your car fail (like the motor or gearbox), we’ve got your back.
Covers the systems that help you turn and keep the ride smooth. If something here fails, we’ll sort it out.
Includes major brake components like the master cylinder or brake booster. Not regular wear items like pads.
Protects things like the radiator, water pump, and thermostat — basically anything that stops your engine from overheating.
Covers important parts that deliver fuel to your engine, like the fuel pump and injectors.
Includes key parts that power your car’s systems and help it start and charge properly.
We’ll fix core A/C parts like the compressor — so you’re not stuck sweating in summer.
If something from this list breaks and it wasn’t caused by misuse or lack of maintenance, we’ll fix it for you.
Statutory Warranty doesn’t cover:
General wear and tear (tyres, brake pads, wipers, bulbs)
Damage from accidents or poor maintenance
Paint, trim, or upholstery issues
Audio/infotainment systems
Modifications or aftermarket parts
Routine servicing
It’s meant to protect you from big mechanical faults, not regular upkeep.
Our Extended Warranty Plans give you more time and more coverage after your statutory warranty ends.
Covers more parts, for longer
Options with roadside assistance
Transferable if you sell the car
Flexible plans to fit your budget
Ask us when you buy and we’ll explain it simply.
Got an issue? Here’s what to do:
Stop driving if the car feels unsafe
Contact us right away
We’ll book a time to check the car
If it’s covered, we’ll fix it free of charge
If it’s not, we’ll explain and offer repair quotes
We keep the process smooth and transparent.
It covers key mechanical and electrical parts like the engine, transmission, cooling system, brakes, suspension, and more. Think of it as protection for the expensive, essential systems of your car, not general wear and tear.
That depends on the type of car you bought:
Class A vehicles (under 10 years old & under 160,000 km): 3 months or 5,000 km
Class B vehicles (over 10 years or over 160,000 km): 1 month or 1,000 km
Extended Warranty: varies – you can choose plans from 6 to 24 months
The statutory warranty is always included (if your car qualifies). Extended warranties are optional and priced separately.
Regular wear items (tyres, brake pads, bulbs, wiper blades)
Cosmetic issues (paint, upholstery)
Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, or aftermarket modifications
Routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, etc.)
Yes, as long as it’s a licensed mechanic and you keep the service records. We recommend servicing on time to keep your warranty valid.
Stop driving if it’s unsafe
Call us or message us right away
We’ll help you book a diagnostic check
If it’s a covered issue, we’ll fix it
If it’s not covered, we’ll explain why and give you options
Usually yes, especially during the warranty period. But if you’re far away, contact us and we’ll help find a solution.
Yes, most extended warranties can be transferred to the new owner. It’s a great selling point!
By default, statutory warranties don’t apply to cars used for commercial purposes, including Uber, rideshare, or delivery.
BUT at Turbo Deal Motors, we know many people buy cars to work. So if you let us know in advance, we’ll work with you to offer a compatible warranty.
The statutory warranty does NOT include towing or roadside assistance. It only covers the repair of specific mechanical faults within the time or kilometre limits.
However, some extended warranty plans DO include roadside support, like towing, jump starts, flat tyre help, and more.
If that’s important to you, let us know, we’ll show you all the options so you can choose the coverage that fits your needs.
Only licensed workshops are accepted. DIY fixes or backyard jobs can void your warranty, even if the person knows cars.
